Be Fraud Smart

We have been notified of a text message scam in circulation where Credit Union members may receive a text stating a new payee has been added to their account. The text is likely to give a name of the payee that has been added. The message falsely purports to be issued by the member’s credit union but it is a scam.

If you contact the number given, you will be speaking with a fraudster who will request your personal login details.

This is a scam and is NOT genuine contact from your local Credit Union.

Athenry Credit Union will NEVER contact you via text messages regarding payee’s added to your account or containing links or requesting any passwords/PIN numbers.

Athenry Credit Union will NEVER ask you to share your personal passwords, pins or login details.
